FMGE 2018 - The application form of FMGE 2018 are now open. Candidates can fill FMGE 2018 application form from till May 31, 2018 (by 11:55 PM). Commonly known as Foreign Medical Graduates Examination, FMGE 2018 is an evaluation exam to allow Indian nationals with foreign medical qualifications to practice in India. FMGE is conducted by National Board of Examinations (NBE) twice a year i.e., June and December. The FMGE examination for June 2018 session will be held on June 29, 2018. FMGE is held for medical graduates wishing to get a provisional or permanent registration with Medical Council of India (MCI) or any State Medical Council (SMC). Aimed at assessing the in-depth knowledge of a candidate, FMGE was made mandatory in the year 2002 for all Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs). The online registration process for the FMGE 2018 opened on May 11, 2018, are now open. The last day to submit FMGE 2018 application form is May 31, 2018.

As per the rules, “An Indian citizen/Overseas citizen of India possessing a primary medical qualification awarded by any medical institution outside India who is desirous of getting provisional or permanent registration with the Medical Council of India or any State Medical Council on or after March 15, 2002 shall have to qualify a screening test conducted by the prescribed authority for that purpose as per the provisions of section 13 of the Act”.

FMGE Eligibility Criteria 2018

The applicant must fulfil the following criteria to be rendered eligible for taking up the FMGE 2018 exam:-

1. He/she must be a bonafide citizen of India or Overseas Citizen of India (OCI).
2. He/she must possess the requisite primary medical qualification either whose name and the institution awarding it is confirmed by relevant India Embassy and serve as a recognized qualification for enrollment as the medical practitioner in the country in which the institution awarding the said qualification is situated. The MBBS degree should have been received on or before May 31, 2018.
3. Candidates seeking provisional or permanent registration and holding undergraduate as well as postgraduate medical degrees from the following countries do not need to undertake the FMGE exam as they can register themselves directly with MCI or any SMC.

4. Candidates failing to meet the eligibility requirements for the FMGE exam will not be given admission under any circumstance.

FMGE Application Form 2018

The FMGE 2018 online application for the month of June started from May 11, 2018. The last date to fill FMGE 2018 application form is May 31, 2018, by 11:55 PM. The application form for the FMGE 2018 June session exam can be filled in online mode only. The candidates must note that the form was available in online mode only and no other mechanism to fill the application form of FMGE 2018 is permissible. Candidates are advised to thoroughly check the eligibility criteria of FMGE 2018 June session exam before filling the application form. NBE reserved the right to cancel the candidature of an applicant if he/she does not fulfill the FMGE eligibility criteria.

Please note that in all probabilities, it will not be mandatory for candidates to provide details of their Medical Council of India (MCI) or State Council of India (SCI) certification while filling FMGE 2018 application forms.

FMGE Application Fee 2018

The prescribed fee for taking the FMGE 2018 June session examination is Rs. 5,500/- which is non-refundable (under any circumstances) and includes the information bulletin. The amount will be payable either through net banking or through payment gateway provided using a credit or debit card.

FMGE Exam Pattern 2018 

The FMGE 2018 June session exam will be conducted online. The exam will contain a total of 300 multiple choice questions in the English language divided into two part papers, taken in a single day- morning and afternoon session consisting 150 questions each. Read below the important points regarding the FMGE exam pattern for the June 2018 session:-
  • The time allocation is of 150 minutes for each part with a scheduled break between the two parts.
  • This will be an online exam.
  • There is no negative marking.
  • The weightage of MCQ’s in each speciality will vary, NBE has the right to alter/vary/amend the marks of the questions.
  • The question booklet pattern will be based on the MBBS programme curriculum.

FMGE Practice Test 2018

FMGE 2018 practice cum demo test will be made available by exam conducting authority. Candidates will be able to take up a demo test of FMGE 2018 June session from June 15, 2018 onwards, to acquaint themselves with the feel and functionality of actual online test format on the official website. They will be able to access the demo test for the FMGE 2018 June session by entering their testing ID (issued upon successful completion of the registration and scheduling process). Candidates are advised to go through the Demo Test pattern carefully to familiarize themselves with the screens, navigation and layout of the FMGE exam.

Overview For FMGE 2018 June Session

FMGE Admit Card 2018

The admit card of FMGE 2018 will be released in the third week of June 2018. The candidates will be able to download their admit card by logging in from the link which will be provided here and can take a printout of the copy of their admit card. After completing the Registration and Scheduling process for FMGE 2018 June session, the applicants will get a computer generated acknowledgement on his/her registered email ID. This will indicate that the application of the candidate was submitted successfully and the candidate was eligible to get FMGE admit card 2018.

FMGE Qualifying Marks 2018

The minimum cutoff marks required to crack the FMGE 2018 June 2018 exam are 150 out of 300 i.e., the applicant has to score a minimum of 50% marks to pass the exam as per the statutory requirement under section 13(4A) of the IMC Act, 1956 amended in 2002. Candidates who make it to the list will be confirmed as ‘FMGE 2018 qualified’.

  • Before filling up the FMGE application form, candidates must ensure they have a valid mobile number and email id
  • Go to the official link to start the online registration process for FMGE
  • Candidates must fill all the personal details and educational qualifications as asked in the application form
  • Please note all the fields marked with * are mandatory to fill
  • After providing all the details, candidates will have to click on the submission button
  • After this step, pay the application fee amount through payment gateway via Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking
  • After paying the fees, candidates have to check the confirmation box to submit the application form successfully
  • After successful registration of FMGE application form, candidates will receive an acknowledgement email on their email IDs
  • Along with the copy of acknowledgement email from NBE, candidates will have to send a copy of the following documents to the NBE office before the last date
    • Copy of 10+2 passing certificate
    • Copy of Passport of the applicant (Front Page & Last Page – Personal Information)
    • Copy of 10+2 mark sheet
    • Copy of MBBS Pass (in English/Hindi)
    • Copy of Address Proof (PAN Card/Voter ID/Passport /Driving License)
    • Copy of MBBS pass certificate apostiled by the Embassy
    • Two photographs
    • Copy of internship certificate (if done abroad)
    • Copy of Date of Birth Proof (Certificate of Matriculation)
    • Copy of eligibility certificate issued by Medical Council of India (if applicable)
    • Copy of fail certificate/result for Ex-candidates
  • FMGE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

    • Candidate must be an Indian citizen or Overseas Citizen of India
    • ndidate must have a primary medical qualification, which must be  recognised by the Indian Embassy concerned, to be recognised as a medical practitioner in the country.
    • If  candidate holds an undergraduate medical qualification from New Zealand/United Kingdom/Australia/United States of America/Australia and also has a post graduate medical qualification degree from New Zealand/United Kingdom/Australia/United States of America/Australia and is recognised for enrolment as medical practitioner in that country, then the candidate need not to qualify the FMGE exam.
  • It is mandatory to provide documentary proof to support candidate’s passed final examination and primary medical qualification.
  • Candidates are also advised to read the screening test rules and regulations on Graduate Medical Education and the Eligibility Certificate Regulations issued by the Medical Council of India.
