JIPMER PG 2018 - Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry, has released the individual rank letter of all the candidates on May 29, 2018. The merit list of JIPMER PG 2018 was published on May 25, 2018, along with releasing the names of the candidates called for JIPMER PG 2018 first round of counselling.
What's new in JIPMER PG 2018 July session?
- The application fee of JIPMER PG 2018 has been increased for General, OBC and Sponsored category candidates. Candidates belonging to General, OBC and Sponsored category will now be required to pay JIPMER PG application fee of INR 1,600/- against the earlier stipulated amount of INR 1,500/-.
- The timing of JIPMER PG 2018 was earlier changed from morning to evening shift. JIPMER PG 2018 entrance exam for July session admissions was to be conducted from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM in the afternoon, contrary to the earlier practice of conducting the exam in morning from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. However, this change has been scrapped with the rescheduling of the examination. Now, JIPMER PG 2018 will be conducted in a single morning shift in online mode from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
- The number of exam cities in which JIPMER PG 2018 entrance will be held has been increased from 10 exam cities to 11, with Chandigarh being the newly added exam city of JIPMER PG 2018. Other JIPMER PG exam cities include New Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Puducherry, Trivandrum, Vijayawada and Mumbai.
- JIPMER Puducherry has made it mandatory for candidates (except for those belonging to Assam, Meghalaya and J&K) to possess either Aadhar Card with Photograph or Passport. Such candidates will be necessarily required to provide the Id number of either Aadhar Card or Passport at the time of filling JIPMER PG application form 2018. Candidates belonging to Assam, Meghalaya and Jammu & Kashmir will be given the option of providing details of any valid government Id proof such as Voter Id, Driving License, Aadhar Card, Passport, Bank Passbook, Ration Card, etc.
- JIPMER Puducherry has changed its tie-breaking criteria, i.e. the criteria used to decide merit rank between candidates getting same percentile score in JIPMER PG entrance exam. From this year on, the marks of MBBS examination will not be considered as a tie-breaking factor. Now, in case of a tie between two or more candidates, first 'Negative Marks' will be considered to break the tie, and in case the tie persists, then 'Age' factor will be considered to break the tie and decide the merit rank.

JIPMER PG 2018 Result
The result of JIPMER PG 2018 for July session admission has been declared in the form of publication of merit list of JIPMER PG 2018 on May 25, 2018, and has also been made available in the form of JIPMER PG rank letter on May 29, 2018. Candidates, who appeared in the PGIMER 2018 entrance exam, can now check their result in online mode in the form of merit lists from the link given above. Candidates will soon be able to download their rank letters as well. JIPMER PG 2018 Result released in form of category-specific merit lists also indicate the names of candidates shortlisted for JIPMER PG first counselling round.
JIPMER PG 2018 Merit List
Merit List of JIPMER PG 2018 contains candidate’s name, All India Rank, marks obtained, etc. based on percentile method. JIPMER PG 2018 merit lists have been released on May 25, 2018. The percentile cutoff for merit list of JIPMER PG 2018 will be determined on the basis of average marks obtained by first top ten candidates in JIPMER PG 2018. The validity of the JIPMER PG 2018 merit list will only be until the current academic session, and will not be forwarded to the next session.
JIPMER PG 2018 Cutoff
The cutoff of JIPMER PG 2018 is the minimum score that has to be secured by the applicants to qualify the exam. The cutoff of JIPMER PG 2018 will be decided by the exam conducting body and will vary for different categories. The qualifying marks or percentile for general category candidate is 50th percentile. However, candidates belonging to Schedule Caste, Schedules Tribe or Other Backward Classes including OPH, the minimum qualifying percentile is 40. In respect of Unreserved Orthopedic Physically Challenged (OPH) candidates, 45 is the minimum percentile.
JIPMER PG 2018 Counselling
JIPMER Puducherry has released the ranks of candidates called for the first round of JIPMER PG counselling 2018. Candidates can check the notice for counselling and the category-specific ranks called for counselling from the link given above. The Counselling of JIPMER PG 2018 for July session will be conducted in four rounds. The first counselling will be held on June 13, 2018, and second counselling will be conducted on July 4, 2018, followed by third counselling held on July 31, 2018, and final counselling held on August 29, 2018. All the qualified candidates will be able to participate in the final round of counselling of JIPMER PG 2018. JIPMER PG 2018 Counselling will be done in offline mode at the University Campus at Puducherry. The date of closing of admissions will be August 31, 2018.

JIPMER PG 2018 Answer Key
As the entrance exam is held in online mode, Answer Key of JIPMER PG 2018 will not be published by the exam conducting body, the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research, Puducherry. Moreover, any answer key published by medical coaching institutes will not hold any official authenticity.
JIPMER PG 2018 Eligibility Criteria
Only those aspirants, who completed their MBBS along with the compulsory rotatory internship of one year and have obtained a registration number from Medical Council of India or any State Medical Council, were eligible to apply for JIPMER PG 2018. Moreover, only Indian Nationals, Overseas citizens of India and Foreign Nationals could appear for JIPMER PG 2018.
JIPMER PG 2018 Application Form
Application Form of JIPMER PG 2018 for July session was made available by JIPMER Puducherry. Candidates could register for JIPMER PG 2018 entrance from February 28, 2018, onwards. The last date to fill JIPMER PG 2018 application form was April 2, 2018 (5.00 PM). Application fee could be paid via credit card/debit card/net banking only. The cost of JIPMER PG 2018 Application Form was INR 1,600/- for General/OBC and INR 1,200/- for SC/ST category candidates. The application fee amount for NRI/OCI candidates is INR 3,000/-. Along with the cost of the application fee, all the candidates will have to pay transaction charges of online fee payment as applicable.

JIPMER PG Admit Card 2018
Admit Card of JIPMER PG 2018 for July session was made available for download from April 30 onwards. Candidates will be able to download the same till May 19, 2018, upto 8.00 AM. Candidates were required to download JIPMER PG 2018 admit card by entering their application number and password provided to them at the time of online registration. The admit card contains detail such as candidate’s name, application number, date of birth, exam centre address, etc.

JIPMER PG 2018 Exam Centres
The exam centres of JIPMER PG 2018 are the list of cities where the postgraduate medical entrance exam will be held on May 19, 2018. The exam was held in 11 cities across India. While filling the application form, applicants were required to choose any three test cities as per their convenience. Allotment of JIPMER PG 2018 centre was done on the basis of first come first serve basis. No request for a change in the examination city was entertained as per the rules. The rescheduling notice of JIPMER PG 2018 stated that candidates who wish to appear for both MD/MS and DM/M.Ch/PDF entrance exams and have filled Chandigarh as the first desired exam city option in both the application forms, they would not be allotted their first choice and second/third choice options would be considered instead.

JIPMER PG APPLICATION DETAILS
Candidates seeking admission to JIPMER entrance examination are required to apply online as per the following steps:
- Log on to the Home page of www.jipmer.edu.in. and navigate to the link “MD/MS Admission January/July – Apply Online”.
- After opening the link, the next step is Registration. Using the Registration/Login, an Applicant can navigate to the desired section of the site.
- Next, candidates have to fill the personal information such as their name, gender, date of birth, nationality, category, etc.
- After this, candidates have to furnish their identity proof details. They can use any one of the listed ID proofs such as Aadhaar Card, Passport, Voter ID card, Driving licence, Bank passbook with photograph, domicile certificate having photograph, Employee ID, Medical Council Card, etc.
- In the step next, candidates have to enters their MCI Registration Number, Name of University from where they done their MBBS, Class/Grade, month and Year of passing MBBS, Date/Expected Date of Completion of Internship Training.
- After this, candidates have to upload their recent passport size photograph and signature of 300 KB in size only in jpg and jpeg format
- Candidates can pay the JIPMER PG requisite application fee through online mode by using Credit Card/Debit Card/Net Banking.
- It is mandatory for the candidates to sign the declaration form to complete the registration process for JIPMER PG January/ July session.
- Candidate must take print of registration slip after all steps of registration are completed.
- Click on submit button and take printout of JIPMER PG January/July session registration slip.
JIPMER PG ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
- Applicant must be an Indian National.
- Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) can also apply for the JIPMER PG January/July session but they have to submit proof of Registration as OCI at the time of counselling.
- For applying to MD/MS courses, candidate must possess MBBS degree from a university recognized by Medical Council of India.
- Candidates must have completed the required 12 months rotating internship/practical training on or before December 31 or June 30 for January and July session, respectively.
