What is the qualification needed for TET entrance exam?

Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) is conducted by the state as well central government for schools that are funded by them. Teachers for primary government schools are selected through the Teachers Eligibility Test in India.

The central level exam is called CTET while TET is the state version of the exam. Under the guidelines of Ministry of Human Resources and Development, it is important that each state conducts its own TET entrance exam to select teachers.

States that are not willing to conduct this entrance exam have to select teachers on the basis of their performance in CTET entrance exam. But it is absoultely mandatory that teachers for government schools to have gone through this entrance exam.

This exam was introduced to improve quality of education in government schools. The CTET exam is conducted by CBSE, while state education board are responsible for conducting TET entrance exam.


Eligibility

1. You should be of Indian origin to apply.

2. A graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

3. At least 50 percent marks in graduation.

4. A B.Ed degree is also mandatory.

5. There is no upper age limit to apply.

6. There is no limit on number of attempts


To clear the entrance exam you must score at least 60 percent marks. SC/ST candidates are required to score 55 percent marks to clear TET entrance exam.

Teacher Eligibility Test known as TET is an Indian entrance examination for teachers. The test is conducted by both Central government and State governments in India. The test is conducted in order fulfill the achieve Right to education goals.

ELIGIBILITY :


All graduates including B.A, B.Sc, B.Com etc. are eligible to take the test.

All B. Ed. graduates need to pass this exam to work as a teacher.

A candidate has to score over 60 per cent to clear the eligibility test.

There is no age limit .

TET stands for the Teacher Eligibility test.This exam has become mandatory for everyone who wants to become teacher.

At present both state and central government conducts this examinations .At state level

1.STET

2.CTET (at central level ).

This examinations is conducted for teachers for Class 1 to 5 and Class 6 to 8 and class 8 to 10

Required qualifications for TET exam:

>>Bachelor's degree in education that is B.ed is complusory to sit for the examinations.

>>50 % marks in graduation is compulsory .

>>There is no limit in no of attempts as well as in no of attempts
